My son was driving and made a u turn on a city street and during the end of the u turn the passenger control arm snapped nearest to the wheel. The car did not hit a curb or run over anything to cause the break. The local police dept, tow truck driver and myself inspected the area and there was nothing that was "hit" to cause this. Once the mechanic was able to look at the control arm when it was on the hoist they…

I have received carbon monoxide poisoning from driving my 2013 ford explorer. I also have had the front end looked at and repaired had to pay most of the costs (extended warranty paid for some) for the front end popping sounds while turning. The sound is still there and on both sides now. So money wasted towards ford!! The vehicle isnt drivable at this point and that leaves me without a vehicle.

Tl* the contact owns a 2003 ford explorer. The contact stated that the front driver's side wheel detached due to the control arm being corroded. The contact called elder ford (777 john r rd, troy, mi 48083, [redacted]) and was advised to schedule an appointment. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the metal of the upper control arm was not a good metal; therefore, the control…

Vehicle was traveling at approximately 45 mph on a smooth strait stretch of road when a loud back was heard and a sudden loss of steering resulting in striking the curb as it came to a stop. Upon inspection it appears the lower control arm failed just before the balljoint and had broken in half. This appears it's an issue across a range if explorers that utilize the same control arm.

After rear toe link recall was completed, vehicle rear end swayed while braking on rough roads. This was getting worse as was starting to happen without breaking. Took vehicle to a different dealer (wilson ford saginaw, mi) than the one who did the recall work (lafontaine of birch run). Mechanic found that two bolts (one lh and one rh) were not tightened from original recall work.
